Tax avoidance is a hot topic in tax and is likely to remain so for the foreseeable future. The Loan Charge continues to be an area of contention and tax avoidance shows little sign of slowing despite HMRC's attempts to reduce it. Tom Wallace, Director of Tax Investigations at WTT Consulting will discuss developments on the tax avoidance landscape including:
 
  • where we are with various avoidance schemes
  • HMRC's settlement processes (timescales, bases on which settlements are made etc)
  • arrangements/technical areas currently being litigated
  • an update on the Loan Charge
